Valiant Women of the VotE

“Valiant Women of the Vote” is the theme of this year’s Women’s History celebration on Sunday, March 1, from 1 until  2:30 at the Saturday Afternoon Clubhouse  in Ukiah. Doors open at noon for refreshments, visiting, and looking over the Silent Auction and New Experience offerings.  California State Treasurer Fiona Ma is the keynote speaker; and this year’s Honorees are Mendocino County women of note Barbara Bristol, Jackeline Orozco, and Carrie Durkee. Val Muchowski will receive a Lifetime Achievement recognition.  Kelda Britton from Round Valley will speak on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women movement; students will read their essays on Women and the Vote. Michelle Sides will give a historical presentation from a famous suffragette. Food from the groups’ best chefs! Music from local women artists! The 37th Annual Women’s History Gala Celebration is presented by: Mendocino Women’s Political Coalition, American Associaton of University Women-Ukiah, Mendocino County Office of Education, Cloud Forest Institute.
