THE COAST, has more Listeners than any other station in Mendocino County.*

Why? How? Most importantly, THE COAST takes local programming and involvement in our community very seriously. Many small stations have gone to satellite programming, full or part time. THE COAST is still doing it all right here in Mendocino County California. THE COAST is a forerunner in the Adult Rock format, which blends Classic Rock, Folk and Blues and the best of the new artists compatible with Adult Rock sensibilities. Does it work?

In competition with some of the largest cities in the world, THE COAST was awarded the National association of Broadcasters Marconi Award of "Rock Station of the Year" for excellence in radio and the NAB Crystal Award for excellence in Community Service.

THE COAST has been the Number One station on the Mendocino Coast for more than ten years, according to Arbitron County Coverage, the only accredited rating service in our area. Currently THE COAST has the most listeners in Mendocino County and has double the listeners of all four other stations at home to the Mendocino Coast combined!

THE COAST music library is one of the largest in the country. Listeners love our variety of Classic Rock, Blues, Jazz and Folk. We also have the county’s best sounding commercial breaks, produced in our state-of-the art studios with never more than three commercials in a break so the customers’ spots are heard, the music flows and everyone is happy.

THE COAST stays top of mind through our music and high visibility, through constant benefits and community broadcasts. We’re in our 12th year of producing our "LOCAL LICKS LIVE" concert which continues funding for music programs in local school systems. Since our efforts began in 1992, we have preserved and restored chorus programs in two local school systems. We annually host The Coast-Aquatic Center on-line auction and live on-air auction for the Mendocino Recreation and Parks District. We also regularly host and sponsor benefits for Make-A-Wish Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Mendocino County, Mendocino County Cancer Resource Center, and many other organizations. Our air talent are always hosting local parades and community events. And, particularly important to our remote locale, THE COAST is often the only station on the air during emergencies, such as the extreme electrical outages and severe storms of past years.

THE COAST is a two time Top 5 finalist for Marconi Awards and, as stated above, Rock Station of the Year 2002-3 NAB Marconi Awards. THE COAST has also been a four time finalist for the NAB Crystal Awards and recipient of this prestigious commendation for community service in our station’s local broadcast area award in 2003.

THE COAST is 95.3 FM on the Coast side of the county, 95.9 inland Visit our beautiful area or just tune us in online at kozt.com ...we think you’ll understand why locals listen and why visitors constantly call and say,

"We wish we had a station like yours in our town!"
