Marie nominated for promoting a merchant’s recycling program & was instrumental in launching a recycling center.  She also helped organize Louisa Morris’s volunteers who painted the blue fish signs at drains in
Fort Bragg and, every year, Marie supports westport beach clean-up

TIM HENRY CLASSES AT SPY ROCK SCHOOL INCLUDE ENVIRONMENTAL COMPONENTS.  HE LED THE INSTALLATION OF SOLAR AND BUILT A GARDEN, A GREENHOUSE AND A BUNCH MORE AT the SCHOOL.

JAMISON RECYCLING

This family-owned company organizes and performs environmental clean-ups of illegal dump sites  other companies won’t touch  providing work to tribal members and other rural low-income families.  Jamison helps to support many environmental, youth and community organizations and the reservation. provides their services as donations to events such as the Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival and the Earthdance Festival “in support of peace and earth-friendly ideals.”

The Eward nomination The Coast received for Mr. Hahn credits him with a district wide impact.  his focus on sustainability in the science classes influenced the entire school to adopt more sustainable practices, that quickly spread throughout the school district.  As the nomination says: “What could have a greater impact than educating the upcoming generation about green and sustainability?” Indeed!  And helping it to spread throughout the MUSD

 BILL LEMOS, ROBERT JAMGOCHIAN AND
THE STUDENTS OF SONAR
SONAR is the School of Natural Resources at Mhs.  Founders/instructors Bill Lemos and Robert Jamgochian lead program participants through classes such as Environmental Science, Ecology, Ecoliteracy and more.  personifying the role educators can play in directing the next generation of caring, committed individuals. a 2007-2008 school year event exemplified the impact. Responding to a popular video on consumerism and over-consumption, SONAR students created and a 7+ minute video of their own and posted it on youtube.com.  It offers tips on reducing one’s impact on the planet.
